The list of special performers scheduled to wow the crowds at Wellington’s upcoming Bathhouse Disco has been announced.
They include acclaimed male pole dancer and boylesque performer Andre Corey, who will titillate party-goers with his unique style and gravity defying body. “I’m really looking forward to performing for a queer audience at Bathhouse Disco,” he says. “I hope I can change some perceptions about the art of pole dancing”.
Andre will be joined by the fabulous Lady Trenyce, fresh from touring the world with her quirky performances and camp-as humour. She hasn’t performed in Wellington for a long time and is excited about making a special appearance at Bathhouse Disco.
Always shocking and never restrained drag train-wreck Gummy Sue will round off the performers’ list, and she threatens to be more offensive than ever. She says that the venue calls for an even more controversial show, and promises to “really push the envelope … People can expect Gummy at her gummiest!”
Organiser Andy Boreham says the entire venue, usually a gay men’s only bathhouse, had to be hired out so that everyone from the queer community is welcome. “Lesbian, gay, bi, trans, and those who don’t fit into a particular box: we hope you all come and party like we’re the majority!”
Tickets are selling well, Andy says. “Our last party sold out and a lot of people were disappointed that they couldn’t get in, so make sure you get yours fast!”
