Marcus wowed the audience and the judges with his rollerskating and personality, despite coming down with a bad case of the flu.
Close behind in second place was previous Mr Gay Wellington winner Jade Neale, who blew the audience away with a stunning operatic performance and conservative suit dress.
There were five entrants in total, including drag queen Gummy Sue who decided she should remind the audience that she really was a man by flashing her bits.
Host Steve Gray (ex-Good Morning) was camp and his usual hilarious self, despite shocking the audience by announcing the wrong top two, including someone who was not in fact in the top rankings. “I’ve fucked that up!” he laughed while announcing there would now be a top three instead of two.
Mr Gay Wellington 2010 Michael Gray appeared via satellite from his new home of Melbourne, where he wished the entrants the best of luck and promised the winner he’d have a full-on year.
Marcus says he would like to use his title to make more take part in “queer events” and said he was definitely against the ‘Wellywood’ sign when quizzed on his position there.
