The man, who is commonly believed to be heterosexual, had his photo used on a profile which sought “fun” with other guys.
One sent message asked: “I have a hot arse, do you have a hot c**k?”. This message was brought to the attention of the man who immediately had the profile removed, and adamantly denied seeking man-on-man bum fun. A friend of the man confirmed to Aaron and Andy.com that he does, in fact, have a “hot arse”. This could not be verified.
The man, who was worried about who else may have seen the profile, wasn’t so concerned about people thinking he was gay: “Some of my best friends are gay”. He was more concerned that the profile suggested he lived in Lower Hutt. “That’s slander, and I would have taken action [had the profile not been deleted] because that outright lie would have damaged my reputation – I haven’t even been to Lower Hutt since 1997!”
It is alleged that the man’s photos are also being used on gay hookup app Grindr.
A friend of the man suggested that perhaps the profiles were actually created by the man himself as a way to hook up secretly with other guys. “Preposterous!” he replied.
