It’s June 1986 in Wellington (one month until homosexuality will become legal in New Zealand). Aaron and Andy.com are throwing a dance party for queer men and women to meet safely and discretely. It’s called Homolicious 1986, and you should be there!
The tides are turning! Fran Wilde’s Homosexual Law Reform Bill is building support and very soon our way of life could be protected by the law in New Zealand. Homolicious 1986, to be held at Wellington’s Bar Medusa on Saturday 23 June, will celebrate being queer and being legal!
Come along, grab a drink, and enjoy as Danny Noir pumps out the latest hits from Boy George, Divine, Erasure, Grace Jones, Neneh Cherry, Alison Moyet, Bronski Beat, Rick Astley, New Order, Frankie Goes to Hollywood, Madonna, and some stuff you’ve probably never heard before! We’ll also have drag performances on the night, and the chance to offer your support as we gear up to demonstrate that we’re queer, and we’re here to stay!
Medusa on Vivian Street will become a safe space for the queer community to party and socialise, and entry is only $10 (pre-sale) or $20 on the door. See you all soon at Homolicious 1986!
Homolicious 1986 will be held at Bar Medusa, 154 Vivian Street Wellington, from 10pm – 4am Saturday 23 June. Tickets are available online for $15 or $20 on the door (if there are any left).
