New Zealand’s original Queen of High Camp, Auckland’s Miss Ribena, wishes luck to all of the drag queens in Auckland and Wellington who are this weekend either up for awards or competing for a title.
Three huge drag events are taking place this weekend, ensuring Queen’s Birthday weekend is as gay as always. Auckland will host the Wigs on the Waterfront Awards; the Capital hosts Wellington’s Next Top Drag Queen: the search for Miss Drag Wellington; and Hamilton will find their Miss Drag Waikato too!
“It’s gonna be such a camp weekend in New Zealand’s main island,” Miss Ribena tells Aaron and Andy.com. “Big frocks, big hair, and big lips!”
Ribena wishes all of the drag queens involved a colourful and camp weekend, especially the girls in Wellington. “I’m sending my love and wishes to all the girls down there for a fabulous night, and we look forward to working with the new girl!”
The Wigs on the Waterfront Awards (Sun 6) take place at the Voyager Maritime Museum in Auckland. Wellington’s Next Top Drag Queen (sun 6) takes place at The Garden Club with doors opening at 8pm. Miss Drag Waikato (Sat 5) takes place at Shine Nightclub.

this person ribena needs to pull his big head in…………..I have been back in NZ 10 YEARS NOW AND HE IS THE only thing stopping me from going out to Family. that club has to lift the standard by getting rid of old meat………and introducing a bit more panache…………….
