Out in the Square is Wellington’s famous gay and lesbian fair — last year 15,000 people came — and it will be painting Civic Square all colours of the rainbow from 11am until 5pm this Saturday. Club Ivy will be hosting the official after-party on Saturday night to warm up for the finale, the Glitter gay dance party at the Opera House on Sunday evening (Monday is a public holiday in Wellington).
S&M’s will also be hosting the Carmen Rupe Memorial Gathering on Sunday evening from 7pm, to celebrate the life of community icon Carmen Rupe. The function is open to anyone who wishes to attend and it is hoped that many of Carmen’s old friends will be able to be there.
At Glitter we’ll be giving out free glasses of bubbly on arrival while stocks last — make sure you get there early to take advantage.
The guys also get to continue partying after Glitter with free entry to Emperor’s Bathhouse (with your Glitter entry stamp). Awesome!
Entertainment at Glitter will be taking place on the hour at midnight, 1am and 2am. Shows won’t be announced so make sure you’re there to check out some hot numbers.
If you haven’t got your ticket to Glitter yet (only $15!) you can buy it online now or at Out in the Square this Saturday. See you all there!
